When describing Jack Morris I can only think of one word to use: Winner. Over the course of his career Morris pitched his team to four World Series and was a dominant post season pitcher. Morris started 13 games in the post season and went 7-4 with a 3.80 ERA including 4-2 in the World Series and 2.96 ERA.

Included in this is one of the most epic and gutsiest performances in World Series history. In the 1991 World Series Jack Morris got every out his team asked of him pitching 10 scoreless innings and scattering 7 hits while striking out 8. Pitching 10 shutout innings, Morris allowed the Twins to score the game winning run in the bottom of the 10th on Gene Larkin’s base hit giving them their 2nd World Series title in Minnesota.

Aside from his great postseason performances Morris also complied several impressive seasons. Over the course of his career he was able to compile 15 or more wins in a season 12 times and pitch to an ERA under 3.5 7 times. Morris was also a 20 game winner 3 times and fell 22 K’s short of 2500.

While Morris was never the most dominating pitcher in the league, he was consistently one of the best in the game and one of the best post-season pitchers of his time.
